We take Fairfield County’s reputation for excellent lacrosse very seriously, which is why we are committed to delivering the best in lacrosse programming, coaching, and leadership.
Our lacrosse staff's knowledge and experience is unrivaled: NAC is the only facility where athletes receive personal training and guidance from our esteemed lacrosse coaching staff; made up of area FCIAC High School coaches. Whether you join a seasonal league, fine-tune your skills in NAC lacrosse clinics, or attend a summer camp, the best lax players are developed at the Northeast Athletic Center.

Amy Alvord
Amy Alvord has been coaching High School and Youth clinics at SONO Field House, now the Northeast Athletic Center, since 2011. A two-sport athlete and 3x All-American midfielder at William Smith College ‘95, she helped bring the Herons to four NCAA Championship games. In 2003 Amy moved to Hamburg, Germany to direct an upcoming Women’s lacrosse program. She took the program from never having won a game to three back to back National Championship titles, and grew the Hamburg Warriors into the largest program in continental Europe. Amy returned to the US in '09, coaching Fairfield Ludlowe High School to their first ever Division II State Championship, including coaching three All-state players. Amy is a 6 year Head Coach for the CT Grizzlies, the Coaching Director at Westport PAL Girls lacrosse program, and directs 3 annual Gamebreaker lacrosse camps at Staples High School in the summer. She specializes in younger players “whose love and enthusiasm for lacrosse is blossoming into a lifelong joy.”

Boys Coaching Staff
Coach Burke has been coaching high school lacrosse in Fairfield County since 1989 when he became the head coach at Greenwich High School. He was an assistant at Darien when the Blue Wave won their first state title in 1997, and was the head coach when Greenwich won their first FCIAC championship in 2007. Coach Burke has won over 100 games as a head coach and has been recognized as Connecticut Coach of the Year twice. He has been helping the Staples Boys Varsity Team since 2011. In addition Coach Burke just completed his 31st season as a lacrosse official, and he has officiated all levels of lacrosse from youth to high school to NCAA to adult club ball.

Coach Burke has been running clinics and officiating at SoNo Field House, now the Northeast Athletic Center, since the doors opened. He coached with the Connecticut Chargers for the life of that program and is now involved with Long Island Express North.
